Here Are The 5 Easy Steps To Make Your Own Homemade Lemon Soap:
Things You Need:
You will need a soap base like glycerine or Shea butter or goats milk soap base. You can choose whichever suits you best or is easily available. Apart from this, you will need a lemon, lemon essential oil and soap molds.
Make Lemon Zest:
Lemon zest can be made by scrapping the outer yellow layer of lemon. This is usually used to add flavor to food items. In this case, just use a scrapper and rub the lemon in one direction against the blade to get lemon zest.
Melt Soap Base:
Melting the soap base can be done in 2 ways. One way to do it is to place the soap base in a bowl and microwave it for about 30 seconds. Check if the soap is melted completely if not, repeat again. Another way to melt the soap base is to use a double boiler. If you do not have a double boiler, simmer water in a large bowl on the stove. Place the soap base in a small bowl and place it in the simmering water. This will melt the soap base.
Now, add the lemon zest and a few drops of lemon essential oil to the melted soap base and stir gently. Lemon essential oil gently nourishes and moisturizes your skin, leaving it soft and supple. If the soap begins to harden, melt it again.
Pour the soap base carefully into the molds and allow it sit for at least an hour. Now, just press the molds to release the soap. That’s it your own homemade lemon soap is ready. The lemon zest imparts a beautiful yellow color to the soap without the addition of any coloring. These soaps leave a pleasant lingering fragrance that will make you feel refreshed.
