Toner is a really important beauty product required for your daily skin regime, to keep it healthy and young. It is important to tone your skin after cleansing every day. A lot of us prefer to use natural home made products than using products bought from the market containing chemicals. Here is a natural toner that contains no chemicals and can be easily made at home. This toner contains cucumber and lemon.
Cucumber is a natural toner and astringent. It cures skin tan and reduces oiliness by tightening the skin pores. Lemon provides freshness to the skin. It lightens the skin as it is a natural bleaching agent and treats sun tan. Its antibacterial properties help to cure and avoid blackheads. Honey can be used for added advantage. It helps in moisturising the skin and prevents skin problems and breakouts due to its anti bacterial properties. Honey is also helpful against sun tan.
Cucumber – 1
Lemon juice – 1 lemon
Honey – 1 tsp. (optional)
Air tight glass bottle
Method Of Preparation
Clean the ingredients thoroughly in running water. Peel and roughly chop the cucumber. Now blend it in a mixer to separate liquid and pulp. Sieve it through a clean cloth or a sieve to separate the liquid from the pulp. Add lemon ( and honey) to the liquid. Mix well. Pour in a clean air tight glass bottle. Plastic bottle may be used as well but prefer a glass bottle. Store in a refrigerator.
Apply the toner after cleansing using a cotton ball or you can use a spray bottle. Follow up with moisturizing the skin. This can be used up to one week. Remember to keep it refrigerated as it prolongs the toners life and cools your skin while applying. You can use the residual pulp of cucumber in a face pack or just apply it to the eyes to soothe tired eyes and cure dark circles.
