Sweet potatoes are a rich source of carbohydrates which keeps you fit and Chicken is an essential source of protein. It gives you the essential amino acid which is needed for cell building. Apples are rich in vitamin A, vitamin E and lots of minerals. You can try it as a whole meal as it serves you both carbohydrate and protein in a single dish. It keeps you full for a long time.
Sweet Potatoes Topped With Chicken Sausage And Apples:
Sweet Potato 150 gm, Chicken Sausage 100 gm, Red apple 50 gm (Chopped), Green Apple 50 gm (Chopped), Butter 100 gm, Dried Oregano 10 gm, Dried Parsley 10 gm, Sugar 2 tea spoon, Honey 2 table spoon, Cinnamon powder ½ tea spoon, Onion paste 1 tea spoon, Ginger paste 1 tea spoon, Garlic paste ½ tea spoon, Salt to taste.
First chop the chicken sausage in to ½ inch pieces and boil it for 15 minutes. Check it with a fork whether it is cooked or not. Strain the excess water from it. Peel the skin from the sweet potato. Now chop the sweet potato in a dice shapes. Wash it thoroughly with water. When you chop the apples chop them in dice shape.
Now take a non stick pan and heat 50 gm of butter in it. Now pour the ginger paste in it. Also add garlic and ginger paste in it. Cook for 2 minutes and then add the boiled chicken sausages. Add salt to taste. Cook it for 5 minutes till the spices cooked properly. Add dried oregano and parsley leaves from top and toss the whole thing. Remove it from flame when it is completed and put a lid on the pan to lock the flavor in it.
Now take another pan and heat rest of the butter in it. Add chopped sweet potatoes in it and add a pinch of salt in to it. Cover the pan with a lid and cook it till it goes soft. Add oregano and parsley leaves. Close the lid of the pan and cook for 2 minutes. Add honey and stir it carefully. Remove it from the flame after 2 minutes of cooking.
Now take another pan and heat the sugar in this pan to make a caramel. Now sprinkle a little water in it to make it semi liquid state. Now pour the chopped apples in to it and stir it. Cook it for 1 minute so that all the apples are coated with caramel and the apples goes soft. Now add cinnamon powder from top and stir it again.
Now take a serving dish and pour the sweet potatoes first and spread it over the dish with a spatula. Now pour the chicken sausage over it and spread it with a spoon so that looked like a topping on the potatoes. Lastly pour the apple mixture on the chicken sausage like a topping. Your sweet potatoes topped with chicken sausage and apples are ready to serve. Try it in your dinner today.
