To Begin With, Here Is A Simple Tutorial On The Block Layered Candle Making Process:
You Will Need:
Crayons, wax crayons or any other colorant
Fragrance or Essential oils
Small containers or paper cups
And double boiler
For the simplicity of this project, the wax used could be any ordinary candle wax easily available in the market. If you are an expert in the candle making process, you can use bees wax or any other wax. First, using a double boiler melt all the requisite amount of wax and divide it in separate containers depending on how many layers of color your candle will have. You could also use paper cups to separately melt wax, so you don’t have to divide it later in different containers. And melt it all together in the microwave at slow heat. This will make your work less messy.
To add in color melt different colors of wax crayons separately. Melt each color separately either using a double boiler or the microwave. Then mix in the colors and the candle wax together. Do remember to remove the papers wrapped on the crayons. Then you may add a few drops of essential oil or fragrance to disperse pleasant aroma when you lit the candles.
Right before the wax begins to harden, in molds of your choice; first place in the wick. Position the wick at the center using a pencil or using ready made base attached wicks. Pour in each layer of colored wax. Wait before the previous layer hardens, then pour in the next. And your block layered candles are ready!
Note: this is a simple process to help all beginners and for professionals to have some fun and enjoy.
